Vistara Construction Services, Inc. was formed in December of 1994 as an Illinois Corporation providing Construction Management Consulting Services. Vistara has had extensive experience in both the public and private domains, including Construction Coordination and Administration, Cost Estimating, Scheduling, Building Surveys, Reviews for Compliance with ADA (Americans with Disability Act, Title III) and As-Built Documentation.
Currently, Vistara serves as a Program Manager with Chicago Public Schools (Chicago School Associates - CSA) and the Department of Aviation (O'Hare Partners). The overall budgets of projects under our management exceed $500 Million.
Program Management Services: Our office took the lead in proposing Value Engineering ideas that could reduce the cost of construction without sacrificing quality. We worked with the Managing Architect (EDGE) and Construction Manager (BMG) in guiding over 8 schools through the design, bid and build process. This entailed regular meetings with the team to cut back on past problems and suggesting new avenues for improvement. CSA rapidly adopted the 'Change Order Management Forms' that were developed by Vistara. Our Cash Flow Spreadsheet gives the fiscal status of an individual project in real time. This information can easily be linked to a web site for off-site monitoring.
Facilities Assessment: In addition, Vistara was instrumental in setting up the current CPS assessment form that is currently being used by a number of architects in studying the capital needs of buildings in the system. Our Assessment Form creates rapid and accurate cost estimates for budgeting purposes.
Project Initiation Forms: Vistara has created the Project Initiation Form that is used universally throughout the Capital Improvement Program as a way of identifying the budget, allocation of monies, individuals and commitments throughout a given project. This form serves as the gateway to all information within a given project.
