The Restoration of the Chicago Federal Center (CFC) Plaza which is surrounded by the Dirksen Federal Courthouse, Kluczynski Federal Building and the United States Post Office Loop Station. The restoration will require the removal of granite pavers, installation of a new waterproofing system, new insulation, and the reinstallation of the pavers. Further restoration will include minor curtain wall and columns repairs, landscape planters, vehicle ramps/ barriers, bollards, benches, plaza drains, 'Calder' steel sculpture, handicapped curb ramps, new guardhouses, the repair of various building components damaged by water infiltration, and new energy efficient lighting in the Post Office workroom levels. The project also includes using a 'Building Information Model' (BIM) to aid in the coordination of the restoration.
